How to Access FREE Gaffs and Binders with Origami Customs

I know we talk about this all the time, but that’s because we want to make sure you know that you can get Origami Customs gaffs and binders FOR FREE!! While we are a for-profit company that sells our products in our online retail store, we also run a community program that gets gender-affirming garments to those facing access barriers. 

At Origami Customs, we've always believed that access to gender-affirming clothing shouldn't depend on someone's income or where they live. Access to gender affirming products is a fundamental human right. These items play a crucial role in supporting mental well-being, enhancing quality of life, and sometimes even ensuring safety. 

But we realized long ago that, as an ethically made slow-fashion brand, our product price point isn't always accessible to everyone. So more than 8 years ago, we started a free gaff program with Point of Pride, and it just kept growing from there. 

Our Community Partnerships are the achievement we’re most proud of and the initiative we seek to grow the most. Currently, we work with over 100 NGOs to get gender-affirming products to people with access barriers. We currently give away over 4000 FREE gaffs and binders a year! 

How to Find A Program To Get A FREE Gaff or Binder

We realised recently that it might be a little confusing to know where to start. So watch the video below for a walkthrough on how to find a program.

Rather than asking individuals to navigate an application process with us directly, we partner with organizations already doing incredible work within their local communities. LGBTQIA+ centres, healthcare providers, universities, youth organizations, mutual aid groups, and nonprofits know the unique needs of the people they serve. 

You can choose a program based on where you live. If there’s not one near you, there are a few options that will deliver worldwide! By working alongside local community partners, we can reach more people in ways that are respectful and responsive to local communities. It also helps connect you with communities that can support you in many other ways! 

None of these programs will ask you to prove your need. We trust you. If you’re asking for support, we’ve got your back.
