Some Troubling News

Hey everyone,

If you don’t know me already I’m Tris and I work with Rae and the rest of the Origami team to make and ship your orders.

These last few months have been so tough on our tiny team but your support and cooperation has been so encouraging. Sadly for Rae these troubling times have just become more complicated.

Last week, Rae’s father fell into critical condition. Rae was able to travel to the other side of Canada in time to see their father’s last living moments. In addition to the grave emotional toll this has taken on Rae, as their father’s power of attorney, Rae has many legal and emotional responsibilities to tend for the next couple of weeks.

What does this mean?

It means Rae will need to take some time away from business correspondence for a while as they manage their family affairs. There will be a short hiatus on Rae’s correspondence but I’ll be taking over in the meantime.

Our production times are struggling to keep up with the 6 week window currently and Rae’s departure will unfortunately affect this in certain orders. The rest of the team is working diligently to close the gap and working to get us all back to regular production times!

Thank you all so much for sticking it through with us while we weather these storms.

With love,

Tris, Rae and the team.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Rae. If “the other side of the country” happens to mean Vancouver, I live in Van, so if you’d like to get coffee and lay some feelings on a fellow queer who is having an easier August, feel free to reach out to me at the email address I provided.

Tris and the rest of the team, thank you for stepping up. Please take care of yourselves as well. I’m putting in an order but I’ll make sure to indicate that I don’t have any time constraints.

You peeps do such amazing work. I send Rae heartfelt support and I know there isn’t a decent person on the planet who wouldn’t understand why production would be slow right now. Thanks for everything you do!
